Question by Arbo Heila: Are kids exposed to drugs at an early age?
Do those kid cigarettes transpire into smoking for 18 year olds of tobacco, then onto marijuana, onto heroin or cocaine, onto LSD or DMT? Those kid cigarettes that are a candy…and look like chalk.

what kinds of drugs are we talking about>? medical? or..the rest. Depends on the environment they grow up in.

Well I have no problem admitting that I come from a smoking family. I started smoking at 14, as well as marijuana. However, I haven’t tried anything more then that, and I’m 19 now. I guess in a way, it just depends on where you’re raised. Drugs are everywhere, all the time. It’s just all about choice at this point in time.
i was a kid,i smoked ciggs then smoked pot and thats it!

Im tired of people thinking that once someone gets to ciggs then pot that they are on this magical ride that takes you through the alphabet of drugs.
i think it just depends on the person…some kids just have addictive personalities
yes kids are def exposed too early. i think once a kid starts smoking itll be hard for him to stop, but it doesnt neccessarily mean they’ll light a joint lol. but yah theres alot peer pressure out there to try it. the hard part is staying off it or not going back to it after already trying it.
Tv’s your number one enemy if you dont want kids to know about drugs. The moment they hear weed? they ask what is weeed…they are told its bad…they grow and friends do it..and they continue. After all that they are on there own paths with diffrent drugs. Sucks honestly. I have nothing against weed but against the other i really do.
not nec. but for some kids who arent brought up with enough guidance could want to do it soon who knows it depends on the child the parenting and the childs atmosphere and friends
I would be willing to say that there is a connection between candy cigarettes as a child and actually smoking; it’s conditioning.
Though saying they’re going to move onto other drugs just because of that is way too far for me. You have to factor in life experiences, peers, personality, etc. not the age of exposure.
children are always exposed to drugs while they are teenagers and always someone is going to try to give them some , its up to the kid whether he is going to take them or not
No they dont.. That is just silly talk, and just belittles the intelligence of young people..
I think you would be quite surprised at how smart most young people are. I think you would also be surprised to know that most are trying very hard to make the right decisions. The problem most of the time is that instead of adults “explaining” something to them in a rational way, they instead get a classic “you should not do this”, which does no one any good in my opinion…
As far as what they do… Most young people will experiment (just as most of us did) with cigarettes, marijuana, pre-marital sex, but typically realize that it is not smart to go any farther than that… This assumes they are getting good information, however…
In short, if you have kids, work to forge a honest relationship with them so that you can guide them “not manipulate” through these decisions in life. Explain to them what you did, and be honest about what you learned from the experience. Whatever you do, however, please do not try to manipulate them. Also realize that it ultimately is their decision to determine what they will do, and not you. If you do, I can promise that later in life they will respect you allot more for doing it…

as a child i used to love those little candy sticks, they also used to do some fake cigerettes that were chocolate and wrapped in an edible paper. (i think that they did get knocked off the shelf though because they did look a lot like ciggies). i dont smoke and never really have done, so they didnt encourage me to smoke (i am now 27) most of the reason people start smoking is because they are copying what someone else is doing, especcially as a teenager (peer pressure) then they end up hooked. obviously some people do just start for their own reasons too such as stress, nerves or just for the hell of it, something to do. i know some people end up smoking because their families do, but i have 5 sisters and 4 of those have been smoking for years, my father smoked a pipe, but i didnt start smoking because they all did…i made my own mind up as did they…
idk probably bad influences from mates or parents. I know it’s obvious in class that the guys are smoking. you could smell it. eww. starting from as young as 13-14 year olds?
In my opinion yes they do have a big effect on kids later on in their life. They r too young to know the difference from right and wrong whenthey r little. So, unless someone teaches them the difference between right and wrong–who is getting to be a rarity anymore–they assume all cigarettes are fine. I kow the cigs u r referring to–they also taste like chalk and I haven’t seen any lately. Kids will continue to use drugs, dogs, etc. until we git and enforce stiffer laws here in the states. That is just my opinion-but I think it can relate to a lot of ppl..
