Question by Rob666: Can my ex partner stop me from seeing our son?
Me and my childs mother have seperated and she now has the child living with her. We are taking the matter of residence to court but its not for another 6 weeks.
She has told me that her solicitor has told her not to let me see the child until the matter is resolved at court even though I lost my job to look after him for 6 weeks whilst she was on a binge.
Does a solicitor have the right to say this or is it her just making it up?

First question, do you have an attorney? If not, try to get one immediately! An attorney can request for mediation which would force the two of you to come up with some type of preliminary agreement on parenting. I don’t know the legalities of it all but I do know that even if you took the police to her place so that you could attempt to see your child if she denies you access than your screwed because the cops can’t make her give you the child since they do not get involved with domestics, the courts do.
Good Luck!
i went through this with y little sister and until one of you get full custody of your child the other parent doesn’t have to give the child back to the other parent if they don’t want to. i am sorry to hear that i hope everything works out ok good luck
Unless there is court order saying you can’t you have every right to see your child but she currently has custody so unless she lets you or you get a lawyer to get mediation done so you can see them. Other then that you have to wait until court but the first day of court you request that the judge enforces a temporary visitation rights until he decides it should change. Good Luck. I am going through the same thing
