Excerpts from a powerful documentary produced by WCOT in Tallahassee, FL detailing the dangers of drinking and driving. The program follows the story of Eric Smallridge, a young Tallahassee man who is currently serving a 22-year sentence for the death of two young women in a car accident when he was driving under the influence. The piece looks at the story from all angles, talking to Eric, his parents and the families of the victims showing how many lives were shattered in an instant, with the decision to drink and drive.

I’ve watched this video a few times… Wishing I could show someone I love who is so stubborn and thinks it couldn’t be him either. Ms. Napier, thanks for coming to my job. I hope your story touched and changed at least one life. I wish Eric could’ve come. God bless you both

Mrs napier and eric came to my school at Oakleaf high school.I will admit, we all thought it was going to be one of those talk to you about the consequences even and what happened to others. but when we found out that it was from ppl with experience, we all payed attention then. after all of this, at least half the ppl there cried. we even got a chance to walk up to both Mrs Napier and eric and thank them for coming out. Guys, don’t drink and drive. next time it could be you
Today Mrs. Napier and Eric came to talk about drinking and driving at my school. Every one was either crying or trying not to cry. I value life more than ever. NEVER EVER drink and drive. Be safe and appreciate life.

They could have a couple cars of the subway/light rail and a couple buses in key areas dedicated to bar goers on weekends, with added security and a more expensive fair (still much cheaper then a cab tho of course, thats the point!), but this is totally feasable- and why hasnt it happend?– dont wannna stop the money machine? even tho its costing lives???
That’s another point. What about all the people that purposely shoot people.
@DJControllerC ………… you make a very good point. Society doesn’t provide the means by which people can easily not have to drive…………… and it seems they don’t have any plans to either………….the gov’t does look at dui’s as money makers………sure it’s wrong………but provide ways to make it not happen………….
He came to Gibbs High today, and I’m glad he did…
They came to Boca Ciega Highschool a couple of days ago…To be honest he seems pretty cool, he just made a stupid choice…I personally think he learned his lesson, but I think he should continue to go to school with Mrs. Napier and speak to students about drinking & driving.
