Question by Hey: How can a teen get fitter!?!?
Hi, I’m a 14 year old guy, about 5’8, and 126 pounds. I know I’m fairly lightweight for my age, but I’m in much worse shape than I’d like to be. I’m gaining weight (which I had just recently lost, and was very happy), and it’s really bothering me. I don’t feel as good about myself as I did before, but I’ve lost the willpower I used to have. A few months ago I would look at a cookie and not even dream of eating it, but now when I try to begin eating healthy foods, I binge out, EVERY NIGHT, and begin eating terrible foods again. I need motivation, but I don’t know how to stay motivated. I really want this though, but I’m a teen, so as you can imagine, I have a HUGE appetite, so it’s easy to go from a good day to an absolutely horrible one. I need to get this under control though, because I’d love to lose some fat, gain some muscle, and become trim and toned like a lot of other people I know. I’d love it, and I wouldn’t have to worry about these things anymore. PLEASE HELP. any other advice is welcome too, as long as it can help me in some way. thanks.

You’re really underweight, actually. I would suggest eating more calorie, fat, and sodium rich foods. You might want to get to about 135-150. After all that weight is put on, start going to the gym regularly, so the fat becomes muscle.

Gaining weight is very easy, just do that, and then go to the gym and lift weights and boxing is great for muscle, too. Good luck! :)
