Question by atoy1011: How do events like ETD POP (rave) go on without everyone getting busted for drugs? I don’t get it.?
Clearly a lot of people are there on E. Why don’t they get caught or the police just break up the whole thing?

Drugs are present at nearly every kind of event. For raves it’s E, for other concerts it’s weed. Like at reggae concerts or a lot of rap events you know there’s gonna be people smoking weed, but you don’t see the cops breaking up every single event.

I think it also depends on how rowdy the crowd gets. Usually people on E are into dancing and hugging each other, not causing fights. Though it may seem like everyone at raves are on E, many of them are not and are there purely for the music and scene. I think the cops know people are doing drugs at these things, but they know better than to start arresting too many people or stopping the entire thing every time. Cause then nobody would want to go to these things, and no event would be able to occur in the first place. Also the cops know it’s expensive having to presell tickets and go through all the hassle of setting up and making the stage, just to have it be cancelled and having to refund everybody’s tickets. Fans get upset and everyone loses money and it’s just a hassle and cops know that.

Also I think people who organize raves try to keep it underground and make sure only cool people who are for the scene know about it so they don’t go snitching to the cops about it when they see someone on E.
