TELL HIM THAT ALCOHOL IS KILLING HIM SLOWLY! TELL HIM TO EAT HEALTHY SHOWER EXERSIZE AND DRINK WATER, CLEAN THE HOUSE AND COOK, MAKE NEW FRIENDS, DANCE RUN SING, GO FOR WALKS, … THAT WILL MAKE HIM FEEL BETTER THAN ALCOHOL MAKES HIM FEEL!
OFFER TO DO THSES ACTIVITES WITH HIM! HE NEEDS FRIENDS THAT BELEIVE IN MORE THAN ALCOHOL!
I PRAY 4 HIM!
Make sure that the kids are well fed and want for nothing and just be there for when the end comes, and it will, but the kids come first and formost.
You can’t.
From personal experience, I’ve learned that an alcoholic will drink no matter what you do or say. Period. Frustrating, yes, but if you do not step back, it will overwhelm. There are even 12 -step programs for family/friends of alcoholics!
If this person is solely responsible for his or her children, and the children are in any type of danger (abuse, neglect), I would suggest you contact your local children’s services.
