Well, i’m 5’1″, 100 pounds, and have found out that I now have 20 percent body fat after a week of binge eating…. what is the ideal body fat for a teen athlete? (i’m on track)…
my friend said my body fat was too high although i look somewhat thin.

Actually, you’re within the healthy range for women. 20% may seem high but women naturally have a higher body fat % than men.
Though, as a track athlete, it would would probably help you to go down a little bit, but not much. The acceptable range for normal women is 21-25% and 14-20% for athletes. Overall you’re perfectly healthy, but if you want to be more competative just try to bring you’re fat % down to around 17 or 18.

That’s fine. I know you are an athlete, but 20% body fat is still great. Most girls have over 20% body fat, so it may be at the upper end for an athlete, but it’s certainly at the lower end for a normal teen girl.
And if you did want to lower your body fat percentage further, you would have to gain some muscle because your weight is already on the low side.
