Question by Amanda: if a child is born a cocaine baby will it grow up with side effects after 20 years?
my future mother in law says that her adopted son which is my bf has a bad temper cuz he was born a coke baby so is it true and if so wut other side effects are there?
Like seriously i just found this out and can’t find anything about it on the internet and have no idea what to do. I don’t know if its something I should know about for future references. I mean he’s not abusive or anything he just has a bad temper and I just want to know what other side effects he has that I don’t clearly see if it’s dealing with bein born the way he was.

the effects of being born addicted last a life time. be careful not to let this be an excuse for the way he acts. we all have things that we have to over come and we all have to learn self control

Babies who have been exposed to drugs before birth have behavioral problems, developmental problems, irritability, and anxiety in the long run. Most babies recover from the short term side effects by 24 months.
some children grow up with huge personality issues and health issues from being coke babies others grow out of the side effects with in years.
I nannied for a family that adopted a coke baby when he was 3 he got mad and threw a ten speed bike 15 feet across a lawn.
but by the time he was 7 all the rage and other coke symptoms he had been having were gone and he is a normal boy now.
so it really is case by case, it depends on how often and how much the mother did as well as how well the babies immune system was. every baby is different.
I don’t know if they have enough data about cocaine babies. I do know that they have a higher chance of becoming addicted to cocaine. I read an article a long time ago, but they were just starting to see the results of what happens to the babies of mothers that were cocaine addicts. The only thing that I can remember is the addiction part. It talked about tag ons, that are in the embro when it is growing. If you are really concerned keep looking and start asking questions. IF this guy has a bad temper, he may want to seek out help before you are the victim of one of his temper tantrums. I don’t know that I would marry a man with a bad temper. See if he will seek out help. IF he is not willing to help himself, then you need to run far and fast away from him. People with bad tempers usually don’t change to the better with out help.
