Not necessarily, but it’s highly possible. It’s best to stay away from all drugs…even legal and prescription drugs…while pregnant as much as possible.

I don’t think that anyone has created a test to determine nicotine addiction in newborns. While nicotine is a drug it does not have the horrific effects that cocaine or heroin do.
I do know that smoking increases the risks of low birth wt., prematurity and other health problems in babies.
