You didn’t provide the state but in most states it is legal if the minor drinks the alcohol in the presence of their guardian or spouse (if they are of age).
edit: Yes, in Oregon you can be served alcohol by your parents. Here is part of the statute, go to the link to read the whole of the law.

ORS 471.430.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:

in texas it was if the parent was with the minor child and was buying it for him it was legal. could have changed by now with all the busybodys trying to tell someone how to raise their kids
not really if their not 21 but people do it anyway
i’m pretty sure that is considered child abuse. anything your kid does, you are pretty much responsible for. you will be the one to get in trouble.
As long as your kids are over 21 – sure.
It is illegal anywhere, any time for a person under the age of 21 to consume alcohol in the United States.
Kids should not be consuming alcohol.
No–it’s not legal. It’s call contributing to the delinquency of a minor and it’s a misdemeanor.
No, Underage consumption of alcohol is always illegal.
Best way to find out for sure is to search your states penal code, but from what I can find online, probably not. Hope this helps! If you really need or want to find out, call your local police or sherriff’s department!
The answer to this question varies significantly by state. Some states permit parents to serve alcohol to their own children in public. Some states only permit parents to serve alcohol to their children in their own home, and some states do not permit parents to serve their children alcohol. I’ve included a link below to a reputable source on the issue, but I can’t seem to find a summary of the specific laws for each state.
One thing to keep in mind, while serving alcohol to your own children might be legal in your state, serving alcohol to your kid’s friends has a good chance of landing you in trouble.
Edit: In Oregon, a parent may serve alcohol to their children as long as they are in their private residence and with the child. I’m adding a link to an Oregon State pdf which briefly discusses the issue.
YES!!!
The parent raises the child not the state, so it is the parents’ responsibility to keep the child safe. If a parent gives their kids enough booze to get them killed from a car crash or poisoning, then that’s illegal. Getting your kids buzzed up at home and not letting them drive after-wards is not only a way of teaching respect for alcohol, but it is also legal.
