Is drugging kids on flights a form of terrorism? Terrorism and kids? Family travel isn’t what family travel used to be. Parents on airplanes, on flights, on vacations traveling with kids are drugging their kids, drugging children with Benadryl to keep them quiet during a flight. Terrorism? Probably no. Drugs and kids, kids and drugs don’t mix, and Benadryl? Benadryl may be a harmless sedative but drugs and kids on planes? Parents are outraged that Benadryl would be given to children to calm them on a family trip, a family vacation. Benadryl may be more or less harmless, but if we freely give kids Benadryl, what drug is next. Should kids fly first class? Should families be in the back of the plane? Why do we have to calm kids with or any drugs? Family travel and taking your kids on a vacation should mean having well behaved children. Or at least kids who can be entertained by books, DVD’s, hugs and other creative ways to fly calmly with kids. Benadryl? Drugging kids? There has to be a better way than drugs and Benadryl. Even pediatricians are not taking a stand. They say giving drugs to kids is up to parents. Really? Should parents use drugs on kids? Sleep aids? Some airline passengers say kids shouldn’t fly at all because they are too much trouble. Not toilet trained. Is drugging kids on flights a form of terrorism? Terrorism and kids? I’m a RN and give my patients Benadryl to help them sleep and or relax. No problem with children as long as the dose is age and weight appropriate.
Let parents do what they want.
It’s not like Benadryl is very irresponsible anyways.
It’s freakin over the counter allergy meds, just don’t take more than recommended or you will get FUCKED UP.

No, all children are different, and each should be treated accordingly. However, I do not agree on drugging or hitting a child unnecessarily.

Benadryl isn’t so bad, it reduces the chance that the child will have an allergic reaction to anything, reduces the chances of runny nose ect, and yes it does sedate. It’s disturbing that the sedative property is what they were after.
Compared to schools getting children on drugs that make them psychotic or cause severe depression and anxiety disorders, and compared to the brutal abuse child psychiatric wards inflict upon children, this just seems so minor. Maybe I’m just desensitized.
In my opinion, kids should be mandatorily drugged before being aloud to fly.

I was thinking Chloroform, I guess Benadryl makes more sense… less drastic..lol…..if you’ve ever been on a flight with screaming kids, you probably thought baseball bat. Why is it that some people need to impose their own beliefs on others… if you think putting your kid to sleep is immoral then don’t .. let others raise their kids their own way… let natural selection do its thing before the idiots take over
I was a child at one time yes. But I was a quite child.
i think if a baby has had problems on a flight before why not try something that would aid in the flight. benedryl is pretty safe it’s not like they smoked em up or something

and that its wrong to call a spanking abuse a parent should have the right to disciplien their child as they see fit but not out of anger but to make the child see if it continues there will be consequences
no i did say that if ur child was terribly bad u should BEAT THEIR FUCKING ASS like i was beaten as a child and as a child i would sedate myself during long trips i had extrememe problems while in a car for a long time
