But an estimated 20 percent of people in the United States have used prescription drugs for nonmedical reasons. This is prescription drug abuse. It is a serious and growing problem. Abusing some prescription drugs can lead to addiction. Why have I (yes, me!) NEVER been in the ER or in the “throes of addiction”? Because I do not LET myself!
@dihle12 The trouble is poor education and monitoring by doctors—and stupid patients!
the problem starts with the drug companies and the doctors who hand out drugs like candy wake up people something needs to be done now before more lifes are lost
@theweedmeisterr what shit are you on how bout the kids that were on adhd medication and died they had no heart condition before taking the pills they were taking what there doctor told em to and drop dead of a heart attack the problems are from the drug companies and the doctors they had out dangerous drugs like candy wake up time for everyone to wake up and stop this rot and stop the bogus disorders that people make up to sell there drugs to make money
@Aestros909 the facts? i hope you are being sarcastic.
I like this PSA because it gives you the facts, and allows you to make up your own mind. A lot of people get introduced to this stuff because they got injured, not because they want to get high. The chemicals are addictive, and that is the main problem.
saying it’s the doctors or drug companies fault if the kids do this or die is bull shit, just stupid kids and stupid parents trying to put the blame on other people, if a kid, especially a teen overdoses on pills it is his fault, no one else’s and the world just needs to realize we all have free will and we do what we do because we want to do it, not cause some company told us too through commercials and tv shows
haha.. thanx mister shrink, for the arthane!
I wonder how long it will take before we bring the Drug Conglomerates into courts for the death of millions of our beloved ones like Sean Good…

@hemptime123 just curious, what makes it healthy? I thought the reason it isn’t accepted is because there isn’t a proven medical use. Doesn’t it help glaucoma or something?

Perscription drugs are worse then heroin but do you actually think people are going to tell us that? whatkind of name does that give the government.. baning drugs that are healthy,, sucha s marijuana.. and perscribing this crap because they make more money off it
in what respect does this drug, make you “unfeeling” ? Is it in all aspects, such as emotional unfeeling and physically unfeeling? would you be neglectful to your children because of it?
Its a very worrying situation that has grown in the last years, a lot of teens are abusing from prescribed drugs, more attention from relatives and Physicians is needed to stop this from growing more, around 15 to 20 percent of patients abuse a certain drug at least once in their life. My husbands 25 yr. old nephew, just died this Summer from overdosing on these pills. He’d been addicted for years, and refused help.
