cocaine is addictive no matter what age. Grounding for a week? that all depends. The best thing is to sit down and have an honest discussion, how much, how often, where did they get it? etc.. check out an N.A. website ( narcotics anonymous). My S.O. is fighting this addiction now, he started at age 10.
I’m quite sure you are joking. Of course, these days, you can never tell. Some parents are so scarily ignorant, it’s crazy….
First, where did they get it? School, or was it yours or a family members?? Did they know how dangerous it was???
Second, grounding won’t work unless you actual stick to it. And I hate to say this, but any 10 yr old child that uses crack, probably isn’t being supervised or given enough attention in the first place. Step up, be a parent or mentor to this child. I have a 9 yr old and he would never be any place or doing anything that I wouldn’t know about. Are these kids allowed to just wander the neighborhoods?? I’m sorry if I sound harsh, this is just so scary and very very sad to me. Good Luck.

crack is addictive for unborn children so yes children under 10 can be addictied.I can not believe you are considering grounding this child for only one week!! This child needs professional help! If you let this go whats next? if you love your child you will take him/her to an out patient addiction clinic.He/she also needs to see what this drug can do so I whould talk to a police dept they whould love to share photos and horror stories about crack heads.The way you decide to handle this will directly affect his/her future.Its called tough love and he/she may hate it or say they hate you for it but its your job as a parent to protect your child and do what ever it takes to ensure they are safe and thy are given a fare chance.Dont hide from this for the sake of your child take it head on.

Yes, crack is addicting at any age! Unborn babies can be addicted through their mother’s usage.
Grounding? No, grounding isnt enough. That is a slap on the hand. How about a couple drug classes. You’d be best to sit in on seminars and such. Show your child NOW what can happen in the long run. Seriously!! CRACK? HOLY!!
