Yes it is, but only if you give them as many glasses as their age.

No. Just because people were ignorant and didn’t know better in the past, does NOT make it okay now. Kids need to learn how to fall asleep naturally, on their own – not with alcohol or cold medicine or any other stupid things lazy parents do because they can’t be bothered to actually parent.
I thought the whiskey was for the cough.
dang. Who knew I was abused!
whiskey is to keep the kids quiet when your in-laws surprise you with a visit
I would say in small amounts.
Eat something with high carbs. Carbohydrates stimulate insulin which helps clear from the bloodstream those amino acids that compete with tryptophan. Tryptophan is a precursor of the sleep-inducing substances serotonin (neurotransmitter that slows down nerve traffic) and melatonin (affects sleep cycle). Light also inhibits melatonin. The best bedtime snack is one that has both complex carbohydrates and protein, and perhaps some calcium. Calcium helps the brain use the tryptophan to manufacture melatonin. This explains why dairy products, which contain both tryptophan and calcium, are one of the top sleep-inducing foods.
