MDMA can cause some pretty wacked out side-effects… I agree with you on weed, however. It’s mostly a matter of propaganda, double-standards, and social acceptability.

hahahaha rave drugs… grow up
in some places weed isn’t illegal
and alcohol isn’t illegal because they tried banning it and it didn’t work!
just like how it is now with the “illegal” weed. It’s not working!
and by the way there are different kinds of “rave drugs” and not all of makes you “love everyone” js.
oh gosh grow up……..the reason alcohol and cigars arent banned is because fuck sake people want money okay…why do fast food restaurants sell such fattening foods????because they want some dam money!!
William Randolph Hearst ran a smear campaign against marijuana in the 1930s to protect his interests in the timber industry due to the fact that marijuana or hemp could be used as a much more efficient form of fuel, among other things. The fact that weed is termed as “trees” is kinda literal, as is contains more “wood” per pound that actual trees do. That’s why it’s illegal here in the US. Money.
MDMA was actually used in the 60′s as a marriage counseling tool and among other therapeutic uses. As for things like LSD, that chem has been used to successfully cure many addicts of other drugs overnight. It stopped me from smoking cigs, which might actually prove to be a strong point. If you get onto these chems, and change what your habits are, then the alcohol and tobacco industries will suffer a major blow….. kinda like gas companies with electric cars. But then again, tobacco and booze have been around as a major player in human development for thousands of years…. since that one person took a bite of a fermented apple, got drunk, and decided to make rum. (no that was not an actual happening. But I had some fermented applesauce as a kid on accident and it tasted like booze….)
But at this point, it all has to do with money, and the attempt to control the people. Honestly, i have no idea the reason behind scheduling these awesome and spiritual chems to be made illegal. It always seems to come down to control. I mean, who grows tobacco nowadays and brews booze? Simple to do, but also illegal. But The US is starting to learn. Weed is now a low priority in my section of the country. You can walk down the street with a joint in Seattle and no one will give a shit. You could probably even offer a cop a hit without any repercussions. He might even take you up on the offer, who knows.
I think the first guy hit it with “social acceptability”.
I think of it this way. I can drink alcohol until I get alcohol poisoning and die, legally. I have done xtc before, and I’ve felt far worse after drinking to much than after taking xtc. Its all a matter of how much you do, alcohol CAN be far worse and more dangerous than other hard drugs if you do to much. It makes no sense i know. Alcohol is legal, some people don’t drink at all and others drink themselves to death. I think drugs would be the exact same if they where legal.
I totally agree with you! It’s unfair and doesn’t make any sense.
They should legalize it all. haha
It’s because the cigarette and alcohol companies give money to congress.
beacause the government wants you to but their stuff and not the things you can grow.
Because people need to be ruled over liked little sheep. If all the drugs you want is available then they will abuse more then they already do. You can already get whatever you want, and take them without getting in trouble so give me any bulls.h.it. I raved, took E, smoked dank for years, never got caught, never got in trouble, because I was smart about it. I see other people getting busted and I’m like well, you’re not suppose to get caught. I see people still getting busted for marijuana, get your lazy as.s. a medical marijuana card already you dumba.s.s, the gov’t want’s you to go through the proper channels, but people are still too lazy to even do that.
If you smoke, you become slow, you consume less, then less revenue for Capitalists…if you drink, the opposite.
well don’t forget that alcohol WAS illegal in the united states as per the Prohibition Act between 1920-1933… they say that the ban was lifted in the 21st amendment, a ratification of the 18th amendment, but i think it was b/c white men needed to get rich again after the losses suffered in the great depression… and, considering our nation’s current economic predicament and nearly on the brink of war with mexican drug cartels, it makes more sense today than ever to legalize the growing, distribution, and taxation of marijuana… it really is a harmless drug… i think crime and drunk driving statistics would go down if pot was legalized b/c it makes users reclusive…
the reason why something like E, meth or MDMA or coc should not be legalized is b/c marijuana is the budding flower from a plant whereas the others are chemically made… they cause major damage to your central nervous system and are truly a form of poison…
cigarettes should be illegal if marijuana is illegal… there are no proven cases of marijuana causing cancer yet it’s the cigarette companies who have the gov’t in their back pocket… tobacco and marijuana leaves are striking in similarity but the addictive agents in tobacco are far more harmful than the addiction to THC… sometimes i wonder if cigarettes are a tool for the sake of population control…
Because drugs do worse and they do it quicker.
I agree completely with you and am glad that someone finally posted a question about this. I haven’t gotten to my drinking age yet, so I don’t think alcohol should be illegal. However all of those drunken dumb@$$es should gain some common sense. Smoking on the other hand should be outlawed. It’s disgusting, expensive, and most of all deadly. This Country is so messed up.
Gov’t hype. Weed was campaigned against because it was a cheap alternative for rope and paper, which would have put a lot of people in the paper business out of business.
Coke was made illegal in 1914 or 1915, i forget. Coke was practically force fed to labors (most of whom were black) so they could work faster and longer. Then a few assaults/murders happened which wassupposedlyy fueled by coke. I remember a teacher telling me that white people wereafraidi of these crazy coked up negro’s which were the poster children for getting coke banned.
Tobacco has always been a cash cow for America and booze is easy to make so it’s harder to stop.
Alcohol is too popular (and has been for centuries) that trying to ban it has, before, ended in humongous protests. Bartenders are legally obligated to watch the customers’ consumation of alcohol, and designated drivers are beginning to be a rule.
Cigarettes are definitely incredibly bad for you, but again, far too much of a popular drug to ban.
Rave drugs make you love everyone… hmm, I seriously beg to differ.
Being stoned doesn’t make you “chill,” it makes you an idiot who can’t get up.
So although none of them are good, drugs like weed and meth are illegal in most states because they 1) DO pose a threat to the consumer and those around him and 2) there are less pot-heads than there are drunks and ciggies.
I personally think it should all go. Beer tastes like sh*t (usually), and even the smokers know that smoking is bad for them.
well don’t just assume that the government has your health and well-being in mind when they create laws. It could be for money reasons.
what? you want to do drugs?
why?
iTS HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS LOL THEY WANT US TO BREAK THE LAW SO WE CAN GO TO JAIL SO THEY MAKE THINGS ILLEGAL THAT DONT EVEN NEED TO BE. THATS WHY PEOPLE SHOULD JUST NOT DO DRUGS AT ALL ITS SATISFYING AT THE MOMENT BUT HAS HORRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS THAT LAST FOREVER
SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS DONT FEEL LIKE RETYPING LOL. AT LEAST I SPELLED EVERYTHING RIGHT I THINK.
Not just that, but the most potent naturally occurring hallucinogen, salvia divinorum, is a Class A drug in most U.S. states, meaning it is completely legal for people over 21 to purchase, possess, and use. Drug laws are stupid and make no sense.
