Alcohol affects your ability to concentrate so he wouldnt get far in school, work, or everyday life for that matter. Imagine not getting treated, you would most likely not be able to get a job, resort to theft to pay your habit, steal money from friends and family, etc. its a vicious cycle that keeps rolling and rolling. And treatment is INeffective unless that person WANTS to break the cycle. Good luck with your paper. A picture in your mind of a homeless man on the street should help.
