Question by Jessica: What can I do to help my friend in this time?
She just got out of a mild rehab for alcohol. It’s not my place to do things for her. She is almost 30. She’s a big girl and she can make her own decisions. I don’t want to “step on her toes” or anything. I just want to be there for my friend. What can I do to help?

Hmmm.. keep her company for a while. Go out shopping and stay from anything that would have the presence of alcohol. Its your job to be there as a friend, but her job to work on her self

just assure her that if she needs anything you’re the person to look for. check on her often but don’t impose anything on her. the rest is up to her. if she accepts your gesture positively, then bring her out often for healthy activities and help her steer away from alcohol
