Question by Bioshock Fan: Rehab question, and Drug Question?
ok, im 14, so today at school we took a field trip to a Rehab Center, and we had 2 kids talk to us that were staying at the center. and when i got home my little sister (age 10) said that Rehab was a place for BAD people. and i told her that it was NOT for BAD people but for people who made BAD Decisions. jail is for bad people and rehab is to HELP people get over drugs. what do u think?

You’re right! Its not for bad people, but those who made a bad choice and they are there to get help. Some people have personalities or body chemistry that makes them more susceptible to addiction and they are in rehab to try to overcome it.

You’re exactly right. Just because you have a problem with drugs doesn’t make you a bad person or any less than anybody else. Addiction isn’t always the result of weakness or stupidity; some people have operations and find they’re just not able to stop taking pain meds afterward, that’s nobody’s fault and certainly doesn’t make one a bad person. If you watch Intervention, some of the most hardcore addicts are the nicest people. You never just START hard drugs, something leads you to that and makes you want/need to. Addiction is a disease, people need to start having compassion and stop being so judgmental.
Jail isn’t even for bad people, either. Some prisoners are otherwise good people who made a bad choice. And some are there for things that aren’t truly crimes (marijuana, anybody?), and yet others do terrible things and never get caught.
That’s not to say that there aren’t “bad” people in rehab or jail – of course there are, but “bad” people are everywhere.
If you ask me, looking down on someone makes you even less than them. I wish people could be quicker to lend a hand than to be an a*shole and act like they’re God’s gift or something.
I’m 19 now & when I was your age I got hooked on drugs.I’ve been sober now for 2 years.It was the worst decision of my life,but I overcame it & I now have a good life.Just because someone uses drugs doesn’t meen their a bad person.It just meens they made a poor decision.Trust me,I know from expieriance.

Yes you’re right.. Rehab center is for people that wanted to stop their addictions. It is recovery center for those who want another chance to get clean.
