The state should be the one to make these decisions and enforce the laws they deem necessary. California for example, it is legal for medical use when it is prescribed to you.. but the feds will still come break down your door and drag you away like a criminal. It’s a violation of the sovereignty of the individual states guaranteed under the constitution. not to mention Every time the federal gov’t declares a war on something, it gets worse. Drug use became more rampant after the war on drugs began. Same thing with the war on illiteracy, more kids now than ever cannot read. We went from “giving kids a head start” to “No child left behind”. Something is wrong, no? Think also of the war on terrorism, has it slowed or stopped the carrying out of terrorism? It’s a fraud, a failure, a waste of money, and a war on your individual freedom

Whether or not marijuana is a “Gateway Drug” is completely irrelevant. The simple FACT of the matter is that millions of people smoke and will continue to smoke marijuana whether it’s legal or not. Despite prohibition, marijuana is so common and accessible that ANYBODY can find it and buy it. The only real difference between prohibition and legalization is who gets paid and who benefits. Under prohibition, criminals benefit and our streets are made dangerous. It’s an issue of simple LOGIC.
