Question by : Do I have an alcohol problem? *Teen*?
I have smoked weed before but prefer alcohol. Today I had drunk a bottle of wine 17% weighing 150lb being 13, I was pretty drunk, but I felt like I needed more, so I took 4 shots of 60 proof rum, and I was crazy after that. I drink once every 2 weeks, I heard alcoholics do binge drinking or something like that…?

Best answer:

Answer by D K
You should not be drinking at 13, so yes this is a problem. I first started drinking around 17, you are too young to be doing this.

Just read a study that kids that learn from their parents are 50% less likely to get tied up in problems like these. What can you do as parents to help keep kids out of this stuff? What can parents who have kids with these problems do to help their kids? Just wanted to post this question for parents to reference and because it seems to be a growing problem, so anything you have to say would be appreciated.
I don’t have a kid…?

Question by Harry Beiber, Marriage Psychic: How can I replace my sex addiction with just a plain, ordinary porn or alcohol addiction?
I really have no vices, except, after my wife had an affair a few years ago, I decided to do the same, except I can’t stop. These women feed my ego by telling me how good-looking, “big” and good in bed I am, and they are better than my wife in practically every way except I wouldn’t want anyone else to be the mother of my kids, 12 and 9.

Anyway, I want to trade in this sex addiction for some other, more accepted addiction. Suggestions?

Question by None: Why is it that so many women who get off of drugs or alcohol get their children back? ?
It’s great to hear that a woman ends up getting their children back after she’s no longer on drugs or alcohol. The best thing children could have are their mother or father. My question is what do you have to regain custody of your children once you get your life together. I am not on drugs or alcohol, but I see so many woman who are not any addiction lose their children because of abuse (by the husband) or depression. Why is that so? And what can she do to regain custody? Everyone goes through some ups and downs in life.

Question by Concerned Aunt: When a child is taken by CPS & put in kinship care, can the care giver consume alcohol with the kids present?
My nephews were taken by CPS and placed with the other grandmother. She is my ex sister-n-law. She invited us to the oldest child’s birthday party. He is two. When we arrived, her husband offered us beer. We declined but he drank the whole time along with some other family members. Is this allowed?

Best answer:

Answer by Mommy of 2
Just because a parent or guardian drinks socially in front of their children does not make them bad parents or guardians.

I’m sure your parents drank in front of you children, and that’s because there is nothing wrong with it. UNLESS, they are alcoholics or people that only use drinking as an excuse to get out of control and behave in a manor that is endangering the children.

Question by bethany p: What to do with a mother that supplies her kids with pot and alcohol?
My friend supplies her teenagers (ages 15 and 19) with beer, liquor and pot. She never makes them go to school. I feel like they could become good boys with some assistance. I would report her to someone? but I don’t want my name mentioned.
I have spoken with her several times. She does not think what she is doing is wrong. I know that my kids have tried alcohol, buy I didn’t provide it.
It became so hard for me that she and I are no longer friends.
