Drug addiction typically only causes damage to one person’s life – the drug addict. But religion causes damage to not just the religion addict but to almost everyone they contact throughout their life, especially their children, right? So in most cases, it would be better for humanity if religious people lived their lives in a drug induced haze rather than to have them screwing up their children’s minds, spreading their ridiculous beliefs to other people and voting for corrupt politicians who use religion to gain power, right?

Question by Laura G: How do I ensure my kids have relationship with their dad while protecting them from his drug addiction?
I am divorced from a man who has a drug problem, cocaine. He has had this addition for over ten years and can’t seem to quit. He is a functioning user & goes on binges probally once a week, but in between does hold a job etc. But he does disapear overnight for two days or so. I did not know about the problem until I was pregnant with 2nd child & left & got divorced. He sees them regulary but supervised visits per the court until he tests drug free. The problem is my daughter is now 7 & wants to spend overnights with him etc. I have to keep making excuses on why she can’t, but instead I think she feels abandoned by him & I worry about her lack of fatherly figure. I am remarried & she has a great stepdad. Is that enough? I am worried about her safety to let her stay with him. My 3 year is still too young to understand. My ex just can’t seem to quit though. What do I tell her? Am I doing the wrong thing? Do I tell her the truth?

YOU NEED TO TACKLE THE FATHER’S PROBLEM FIRST,BEFORE IT IS TO LATE. TAKE MEDICAL HELP IF NECESSARY AND TRY TO TALK HIM OUT OF THE DRUG PROBLEM IT IS A CURSE.

Question by XxBoNaFiDexX: What are the best celebrity drug autobiographys and/or memoirs ?
A couple months ago I read Wired:the story of John Belushi.I loved it.For some reason I’m addicted to true stories of drug addicts & their experience.Not necessarily that they even recovered.I love to read about them being high.I’m in my early 20s.I’ve done a variety of drugs & have been in & out of rehab a handful of times.Nowadays I’ve slowed down a lil bit.Anyways-The Chris Farley Show book was a page turner as well.Artie Lange’s Too Fat Too Fish book was awesome.Russell Brands book was utterly boring.Also-I’ll like to read them just as much if they aren’t celebs.But the problem I’m having is I’ve read almost all of them over the years.Permanent Midnight,Tweak,My Beautiful Boy,Broken,Smack,Dopefiend are amongst some of my favorites.Any suggestions?

I used crystal meth seven years ago and at that time told my mom about it. She reacted and threw me out of one of the houses that I lived in that she owned. I partied 99percent of the time outside the house. She has her story I am have mine but thebottom line is ‘you don’t put your kid out onto the street’ ..right? My life was well rounded but not from her perspective. For the last seven years I’ve been pushed in and out of recovery because of being homeless. I wish she could see that it belongs in me and all the preasure she pugts on me go help me is not a good thing to do.

i’m sorry but the old “you don’t put your kid onto the street” doesn’t apply in all cases! i would not sit there and let my kid live under my roof while knowing they were an addict. it’s not her responsibility to support you through it, you need to get your stuff together and stop expecting her to take care of you. maybe if you went through rehab and showed that you are looking to get your life together, she’ll let you come back.

and stop with the excuses. all the pressure it puts on me, she put me in the street. YOU are responsible for yourself. you don’t think having an addict child puts pressure on her. stop playing the victim!

Teen in family got busted with text messages, said they were doing jiggers. She claims it was a drug with ecstasy in it. Maybe, maybe not…anyone ever heard of this stuff? What’s in it???

a jigger is used to measure out alcohol for drinks, like a shot. that’s the only way i’ve ever heard it used. it sounds like she was doing shots; not ectasy. but who knows, right?
