Question by Little Flower: can someone get kicked out of army for this?
I know someone who is violent and loses his temper and has hit people. I found out from someone that he had gotten kicked out of the army. I didn’t say anything as i didn’t want to believe it or even go there. But he got violent with me and i brought it up. he said the person was lying. Can a person get kicked out for too much drunken and violent behavior in the army or military? He does have severe depression. He is a binge drinker and was abused as a child by a woman in the family. He is 50. thanks. thanks.

And for those who say “turn him in” to the police. If he’s not doing it at the house, but a known drug home, will they monitor him anyway? I will turn him in for being a user but he doesn’t do it at their home so how would the police know where to catch him?

This person is my husband. He is a drug addict and cannot hold a job or any money he receives. Basically he is indigent. I feel there is also some mental illness/depression as well.

I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and he continues to steal money and my only vehicle to go on his binges. The vehicle is under my name. I have reported it stolen before many times. I feel he is a threat to me and our unborn child. How do I have him commited?

It also ways heavy on me as a person that is a productive member of society and only wants to do the right thing and save my husband.

Help, please!

Answer by Mav.
Talk to the police. They will help you set up a court hearing to have him evaluated, and possibly commited.

Question by Mariah G: Can someone help me revise a paper? I will copy and paste it below. IF you could you owuld save my life!!?
So we had to write a persuassive essay on whether we think the book we read should or shouldnt be banned, here mine is. Not great i know so please help..dont worrry about hurting my feelings.

Preventing True Stories from Being Told
“A society that is so fragile that it can’t have free speech is an unstable society, that won’t last long” (Anonymous) I am reading the book “Don’t you Dare Read This Mrs. Dunphry.” This book is considered a controversial book and is censored at some elementary schools due to the theme of parental neglect, sexual harassment in a part time job, and abuse. What many people don’t realize is that things like this do happen to children as young as elementary, how will they understand it unless they have a chance to read about it? The author discovered that writing her problems down helped to relieve stress. It turns out this helped her a lot in the end. Maybe the children who read this will be helped by writing. The fact is they wouldn’t know if they weren’t allowed to read it. How would that one child realize that it’s not okay for their parents to just leave, expecting them to take care of themselves? Because this is a non-fiction book it has value, lessons, and knowledge. I also believe that if children see that the author managed to stay strong and worked her and her brother through their rough times, then others can too. This shows that it is possible if you don’t give up. I believe “Don’t you Dare Read This Mrs. Dunphry” shouldn’t even book a book that is considered for banning.
I think that book banning is a form of mind control, it is used to control the way people think. If a fourth grader was being neglected by her parents, and beat by her father but was to scared to tell anyone, wouldn’t it be nice to allow her to read about it in class, with its teacher and peers it knows and trusts? Maybe then they would feel comfortable taking about it with someone that can help them. When I was in elementary school I was just starting to become interested in things like this, just learning about what really goes on if everything that is remotely bad is banned or censored what will happen to the children who go along in life thinking that life is easy and goes undisturbed. They are in for a serious shock. Why not educate them while they are young and have time to learn? Some people would argue that and say that elementary student don’t have the emotional abilities and understanding of the things that go on in society, but yet every day on the news you hear at least five stories about a child abduction, rape, or murder. Readers need to know that this stuff takes place and that it is okay to reach out for help.
Today you rarely hear about stable families. Instead you hear about families that aren’t split apart, abusive fathers, alcoholic mothers, and drug addicted siblings. These things often take place with the 7 or 8-year old watching all this happening. Knowing nothing about what they are supposed to do about it, whether they do it too or turn it down, no one was there to teach them right from wrong. When they have that occasional bad day who do they run to? Who do they tell what happened? Talking to friends in your age group gives you a limited or narrow perspective. Children need adults in their life, they can be on their own when they are no longer a minor at age 18, not 7, not 11, not 15. Eighteen. What is a child expected to be able to do at such a young age, when they don’t have a parent, friends, siblings, or teacher to talk to? In this book the young girl discovers writing, she writes down her problem and communicates her thoughts and notices that she doesn’t feel so lonely. How will kids learn to deal with this behavior if they can’t read it? Maybe reading a real story about a girl their age with the same problems will show them that everything will be okay, that there is a way out; they only need to keep trying. This will not be learned unless they are exposed to this type of literature. It is nice to have someone to talk to but when there isn’t, there is still more to do. Other alternatives writing poems, drawing, writing stories, if no one ever is willing to try this will be a continuous circle.
Sitting in class reading this book, a young boy or girl may realize that they need to tell someone, they can no longer live their life this way. This is one of the benefits of allowing children to read a first-hand account of real life situations.

Best answer:

Answer by Paco
The basic outline for this type of essay is introduction (last sentence being your thesis) body explaining and supporting your thesis, and conclusion, which is a recap of your ideas. First, you really have to proof read this, and the best way is to read it out loud. This is your thesis,

“I believe “Don’t you Dare Read This Mrs. Dunphry” shouldn’t even book a book that is considered for banning.”

book a book is a typo, also avoid using phrases like “I believe”. You’re writing this paper, so the reader knows that it is your belief.

“‘Don’t you Dare Read This Mrs. Dunphry’ should not be banned in public schools.” is stronger and to the point. Remember, in a persuasive essay, you have to project confidence in what you are telling the reader.

Also your paper just trails off at the end. “This is one of the benefits of allowing children to read a first-hand account of real life situations.” is the last sentence in your paper. The end of your paper should cover all the points you made in the body section, not only one.

*Identification of self through literature
*The importance of an uncensored outlook on society by children
*Censorship as a form of societal brainwashing

These are just a few points I took from your paper, and I would recommend isolating these ideas and really focus on explaining each throughly and sequentially. Try to avoid jumping from one idea to the next without explaining either thoroughly.

Anyways, I hope I helped a little and I hope you have more than a couple of days to go over this paper before it is due.

Question by confused&alone: How do u help someone u love to get off of meth. without letting everyone around to know? Job,family, children?

Best answer:

Answer by br@ski
well the sad truth is that people who are on meth have to get off it themselves they have to want the help and if they didn’t want anyone to know they couldn’t move in to a half way house they could probably go to cma meetings ( 12 step recovery groups) just be supportive of recovery that is all you can do!

Question by the_force_q: A few years ago I hit my mom, and last night someone brought it up, I need advice ?
It was a new girl in the rehab next door.
( i’m neighbors with a female rehab called – ” Women’s Space ” )

I’ve known the original staff, ever since I moved here which was close to 10 years ago.

It seems like they are warning this drug / alcohol recovery rehab about me.
( or my behavior, etc.. )

I hit my mom after years of seeing her abuse my dad, and he never … not once defended himself. I tried to stop the vicious cycle by doing what I did. ” I threw 3 punches that left visible bruises ”
( in fact – my mom has stopped pushing my buttons )

However, I bare the bitter harvest, because now i’m being labeled a ” mom beater ”
( this is something I tried forgetting about – but you know how people can never forget some elses faults / or mistakes )

Should I forget about what happened 4, or 5 years ago. Or should I live life knowing that i’m insane for getting in a fight with my mom, because of a life long problem ???
GREG: thanks for your help … my mom has forgiven me, but this is something that me, and my family will never forget !

Of course things have changed, and it’s never been mentioned again, until ” last night ”

I now live on my own, and my mom helps pay the rent a little bit.

Best answer:

Answer by vstarbiatch
You should not forget what happened, because you hopefully don’t want to continue the cycle. It’s not right to hit so although you shouldn’t be judged on a poor decision years ago, you also need to carry the experience and lessons with you. Don’t let others color your view of yourself but strive to be a better person than the environment you were raised in…might even be worth considering being an advocate against domestic violence (whether by the male or female), because you’ve seen and experienced first hand how it can affect people.

What do you think? Answer below!
