Question by D: !: Teen foreign holidays ? ?
My parents broke my heart when they stopped going on foreign holidays and started caravaning, I hate it so much i stay at home while they go on “holiday” – I have nothing to ever lookforwardd to anymore.
So this promptss the obvious question. I’m 16 almost 17 and want to go abroad, is this even possible these days after the reputation other teens have given airlines/hotels etc? :\
I preferablyy want to go somewhere with good weather and nice beaches and isn’t to pricey, and also isn’t one of them destinations where all the binge drinkers go for abit of fun and a party.. Just want a relaxing holiday.
So, has anyone got any idea where would be a accepting destination for me ? or any advise? To be honest i proberly wont have enough money till i’m about 18, but id at least like some hope!
Please no answers such as concentrate on education and such – i’m from the uk and have left school, and i have plenty of time out of college each year to go on holiday!

I left school at 16 and went to ibiza. A-MAZING! best holiday ever. met loads of cool guys to hang with, got with loads of sexy girls, just amazing. proberly the best holiday for your age.
Well this my be kind of far but I love Cancun/Cozumel in Mexico. It’s warm there, the hotels are nice, the food is awesome, and it’s fun if you like snorkeling, and the water and stuff. I live in San Diego, and in my opinion, Cancun/Cozumel > U.S. including Hawaii, Indonesia, and other parts of Mexico for vacation.
lol, this is basically me. i don’t know why my parents have decided to start caravaning in bloody devon rather than going to foreign countries but they have. i reckon you should go to one of the sort of, butlins kind of places (obviously a bit nicer than bultins though
) that they have in other countries. i went to france with my family and it was a family kind of resort, but i could also tell that it would have been brilliant if i had gone with my friends instead. go to a place that has a good club and is a resort. your parents will be less worried about it.
Turkey!
I’ve said this sooo many times, I answer all of these questions with the same answer haha.
Basically, Altinkum is Turkey is the best holiday I’ve ever been on, I’ve been four times now, and I’m going back in June this year.
It has three long sandy beaches and the weather is fantastic, it’s not unusual for it to be 50oc! Although it is cooler at night, so it’s not uncomfortable.
It’s a real family oriented place, there’s only one main nightclub that all the local teenagers go to. There’s hundreds of bars, clubs and restaurants though.
I’m going to a bed and breakfast for two weeks in July and it’s costing £465. But obviously you have to save up spending money too for eating out and shopping and things.
It’s only a four hour flight from the UK too
Oh ohh! I forgot to say, the local people are really really friendly, which is always a bonus if you’re travelling yourself. The second year I went back, I visited the same bar me and my family had went to a few times the year before and they all remembered us and our names, they even remembered that I wanted to be a teacher haha :O
Since then, I’ve kept in touch with many of the waiters and waitresses, they are lovely people
I am in the same situation as you and I live in the UK too. I am also 16. My parents used to take me abroad on holiday every year but have recently split and have both said to me that I am old enough to travel by myself. So yes, this is entirely possible. I think if your looking for somewhere hot and relaxing and not too pricey, Benidorm is the perfect place. It costs something in region of £250 – £290 which I think is reasonable. I went in February 2008, its perfect. It has lovely beaches, lovely weather and although it has lots of places to drink and party, they have an old town which is more of a place to relax and is also not far from beaches.
Good Luck. I hope this helped.
I think you might be better off not going on a two week holiday abroad dosen’t make a difference where, one week might be ok. I heard so many stories friends going on holidays and stop being friends when they come back. I haven’t experienced it myself im 19. I know a guy that went on holiday with his yaer to some greek island after he graduated from school, he had like 12 friends but by the time he came back he only had 3 this was a 2 week holiday.
