A recent forum on youth, alcohol and violence heard some confronting testimony about Australia’s destructive booze culture….. “Well, either you’re closing your eyes To a situation you do now wish to acknowledge Or you are not aware of the caliber of disaster indicated By the presence of a pool table in your community. Ya got trouble, my friend, right here, I say, trouble right here in River City….. Trouble with a capital “T” And that rhymes with “P” and that stands for pool! Now, I know all you folks are the right kinda parents. I’m gonna be perfectly frank. Would ya like to know what kinda conversation goes On while they’re loafin’ around that Hall?” www.stlyrics.com The Scottish government is considering imposing a minimum price of 40 pence per unit of alcohol and banning cheap drink promotions such as two-for-one offers and “women drink free all night”. Last year, Australia slapped a hefty tax on alcopops in a bid to reduce heavy drinking among teenagers. And in North America there is much discussion about banning happy hours and similar promotions. Such measures, however, are politically unpopular. Perhaps not surprisingly in a nation that loves its booze, Donaldson’s proposals found little support other than plaudits from health and anti-drinking groups….. www.newscientist.com Binge drinking Britain: Why our ‘cafĂ© culture fell flat on its face The drunk student who provoked outrage by urinating on a war memorial is typical of our unhealthy attitude to alcohol …

kuulostaa aivan apinalta kun se nauraa
lol ku se juoksee katolla
Totta…. Rölli on kännissä.
The drunken violence and drunken lout behaviour are two of the reasons why i want to immigrate and leave Australia, it’s ridiculous and out of control over here and a total disgrace.
@ddchalmers You seem to be bashing on Australia very well. Well done. Do you feel good about that inside?. What a champion. Really doing something for the world. Look at the people working in the hospital, talking. Are they drunk? Is everyone here an alcoholic?
ARE YOU EVEN FROM HERE BECAUSE YOUR NOT ACTING LIKE IT.
Yes there is a problem here with it I would say, I say that as an Australian. It is part of social culture. I do not believe it is a problem unique to Australia.
Britain anyone?
Iam only 27 (but often feel like a complete throwback to a more sensible and conservative generation and disowned from Gen-Y altogether)… and to me Iam disgusted to think what our generation and succeeding generations are going to be like in the next 5-10 years time alone.
As Andrew Scipione said… “We’re dealing with a society which not only has a lack of respect for authority, but a lack of respect for itself…. which is a very sad state of affairs”
Society is gone to fucking SHIT!!!
GS – Aussies are openly racist when they are “drunk” (eg: Cronulla riots). Your comment reminded me of a quote i heard:
“Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.” ~Oscar Wilde
So true.
When the mask is off they are the supposedly good decent people. Its the reason they hate “political correctness” aka ‘human decency”. They want to be able say & do what they want,so on with the “drunk” mask & hey presto redneck wonderland.
Yeah, tat is called ‘depression’, @casting4325 but white mans’ problem is ‘denial’, uhh. If U go back far enough in their British history, U see tat they R the sad progeny/bastard sons + daughters of successive waves of invasions over some 2,000 years, not jus 200 + the English have adjusted by inflicting their violence on the neighboring Scots + Irish + Welsh practicing on them B4 exporting their viciousness to the world….. so tat all R sickened by their madness
LOL dd.Indigenous people always knew the white aussies had a disturbing love affair with the “bottle”. I think a proportion of our people decided to use the “if you cant beat them, join them” approach. Then they started labeling Aboriginals as being “drunks” & also use/used them as “punching bags” at the local “watering hole” (pub) near closing time (obviously out numbering them).Big mistake by Aboriginal people. Not me tho..I seen that crap early. The “drunks” should have been dealt with long ago.
LOL After all tat, the “white mans’ burden” turns out to be his own alcohol addiction after all, @casting4325 (groan…)
Is this Aust’s (watered down) version of “prohibition” to deal with aussie “psychosis”?And that goes for white & black.Actions will speak louder than words tho.222 years to arrive t this conclusion koo koo.Better now than never tho.
Mmmm…. interesting.
LOL, if U watch my previous vdo “Binge-drinking: Australia’s brain-damaged debauched Anglo-Celtic degenerate ‘settler society’” U will see a comment abt “a prerequisite for an aussie citizenship”, @GSdudeUK …./watch?v=NGs2RPv8FeE
Ah good ole aussie drunken behaviour… sometimes even used as a mask for racism.
most of these drunk aussies think that getting drunk is a way of having fun yet they are the only country in the world who prides themselves on getting drunk.
most of these uneducated drunks should go to europe and discover how u can go out and have a good time instead of getting drunk & causing violence.
DD is getting drunk another ‘australian value’ ???
OR Maybe a prerequisite for an aussie citizenship?
