Question by : What are the chances of my child becoming an alcoholic if I am?
I do not have children, but perhaps one day.. So what are the chances of one of my kids having alcoholism?
Plus how can I tell ahead of time?

Probably the greater danger would be Fetal Alcohol Syndrome from drinking alcohol during pregnancy. But anybody can quit a habit for nine months.
Young people have a “time of alcohol” when partying is king and Spring Break means massive drunkenness. It lasts just a while, before other interests take them away.
One day you realize that skiing is more fun, or mountain climbing, or driving a race car, and alcohol loses its importance as a means of having fun.
I once saw a button that read, “After forty, your Fun genes stop multiplying.”
It’s more that they mutate into different kinds of Fun genes.
Bars get old after awhile.
