Question by onelchris: What do you think about Alcohol at a formal dance? This event will have under age kids and also the 21+?
I want to throw a party and I was thinking about having alcohol at a dance for the 21+ but there will be under age kids also.

as long as you some how control the 21+ drinking with wrist bands or they have to show id at the bar shouldn’t be a problem in my opinion
Drinking alcohol will ruin your liver, boy…….
Make sure all id’s are checked before drink is served.
I think you can go one dance without booze. If people are going to drink they’re going to drink before they come anyways. So, I think if there isn’t any booze at the actual dance it won’t effect those who are going to drink anyways. But the under 21′s are going to be pissed if there’s alcohol there and they can’t have any.
i think you should do what some colleges do. you should get a stamp for the people who can drink and if the people under 21 don’t have a stamp, they can’t get a drink.
no way would i be putting anyone at risk with this. it glorifies and tempts young kids into alcoholism and we already as a nation, have a binge drinking issue and these are little ways to help address the issue.
could you maybe limit the alcohol until after the dance and have an over age only after party? think that would be a better idea!
have fun at the dance!
xx
must be shaprones there. if the cops are called and a under age person is drinking and not suppose to be by sneaking it well the the older crowd gets it for contributing to a minor
As long as you plan to control the alcohol consumption and prevent the underagers from gaining access to it you should be ok. However; if your throwing the party your ultimately liable for damages. If your from a state w/third party liability laws it might be best to skip on the booze. If anyone is busted due to an alcohol related crime (of age or not) they can sue you for punitive damages.
