Question by Taylor: What is the best way to get motivated to work out?
I’m a teen and i’m always busy with school work and so i start to binge out on food. I’m also an emotional eater…in my family we eat when were happy and we eat when we’re sad. I’m overweight and I’ve started a diet but i need help to motivate myself to work out. I also haven’t worked out in a while other than the occasional walks so i need to start a little slow i think. Does anyone have any ways to help?

Let the fact that you are overweight be your motivation, visualise yourself slim, toned and healthy and keep this mental picture as your motivation

Find something you LOVE.
For example, I LOVE jogging on the beach, swimming (pool or ocean), badminton, biking & zumba dance. I honestly can’t get enough of any of those activities.
I exercise 1-2hrs per day, doing 1+ of those activities. And I look forward to it SO much. In a way, it’s like my “treat” for the day because I love it so much, and I get so much fun and enjoyment out of it. It’s my “me” time, my time to just think and enjoy life, my time to exercise, my time to de-stress, my time to get a self-esteem boost, my time to just have FUN.
I’m in university, and I have 4 extra curricular societies, 2 jobs (not shift work though), and I have to maintain atleast an A- in every course in order to remain in my university. So my 1.5-2hrs of exercise means a lot to me. I love it and look forward to it every day.
I honestly think LOVING your exercise is the greatest motivator! Instead of having to force yourself out the door, you’re looking at the clock in hopes the time will pass sooner. =D
With fun activities like this, it’s impossible NOT to get exercise, and impossible not to stay (atleast fairly) fit!
