Nope, but when you’re young, you’re probably not addicted, yet, either. When you’re old, you’re supposed to “know better.” I have an idea: look at the pattern and figure out that it’s not cool either way.
What was the quote I saw on a sitcom the other night? “I don’t drink because I’m bored, I drink because I hate my life and want to forget it.”

well, from observing the people i know and have met, if you think youre popular just because you drink when youre young, you will be one of the old drunk people still trying to be popular and then youre an alcoholic. I know a few 50 yr olds that party like their 20 all over again. they might have thought they were popular back then, but probably not. and theyre certainly not now sitting in their house in the country blairing the oldies drinking boxed wine and cheap beer reliving the “glory days” I think people that cant give up their childhoods are pathetic and need to get off the booze. its cool to pass out in a pool of your own vomit as a kid, but once you have kids, NOT COOL.
I know plenty of Young people that are Alcoholics. Try going to an AA meeting, they are not all old people. It doesn’t matter how old or young you are. If you feel that drinking makes you popular you have a very naive view of what it is to drink. Being able to drink socially in moderation and not become addicted, being able to drink responsibly and make sound decisions with your life, is what really separates Alcoholics from non- alcoholics. Not necessarily the young from the old. Alcoholics can not manage their lives and they have no control over themselves once they drink.
Not fair. Most of us old farts don’t get falling down drunk like young kids cause you can’t get up easy. Just a nice buzz is enough. Younger kids get drunk so they can say they don’t remember what bad things they did.
Well, You can’t be popular just because you are drunk. If you drink alot at a young age to be popular then you will an Alcoholic later because I have never met anyone who is popular because he/she drinks alot. If you are partying alot with your friends and they like you for your personality then that is different. You just can’t party like it’s 1999 at the 30 years from know, because at the age you should know better and be wiser.
