Question by Kathryn: Why do people always make every teen who drinks out to be an alcoholic?
Teen years are notorious for people just exploring. Obviously within limit, but still. People on here make it seem like any teen that drinks occasionally needs to go to AA meetings. Why are people like that?

because teens who enjoy drinking usually try to go farther with it….making it an everyday or every weeksnd thing….then they be come ppl who just love to drink…im not going to lie as a teen i loved to drink but now i have kids and it never crosses my mind to go out and party!!
Its because you shouldn’t be drinking during your teen years…its not go for you…not to mention its against the law…plus it just shows that you don’t have self control over the choices you make. If people can’t trust you to make good dicisions then how are you supposed to get a good job? among other things…
It just basically messes up your life…and a lot of people understand that and care enough to tell teens who do it to stop!
dats wat u can turn in2 if u continue drinkin
Because a lot of them binge drink. My cousin is 16 and she already admits to being addicted to alcohol it’s sad. Teens are not capable of making decisions like that; they don’t know when to stop and they aren’t responsible. Drinking to get drunk on a weekly basis is a problem and isn’t that what teens do? Try to get drunk. It’s sad, I’m sorry.
because most people are stupid! they don’t think you’re allowed to act out sometimes, even though they all did it, without having it turn into a “problem”.
Not to be preachy, BUT teen drinking isn’t such a good idea. There’s a reason for the age limit on drinking, look, kids already have difficulty dealing with adult issues and making decisions, add a little bit of alcohol and whatever logic and reasoning you had is out the door.
All that said, if my teen wanted to try it, I would allow it at home while I’m there to watch closely.
I know, I hate when they do that. I mean, it’s only illegal and a large portion of teens will OD on their first try bcuz they dnt know how much their body can take, and it only messes with your state of mind and ur judgment. Besides that, it’s perfectly ok right?
Yea no, dnt drink.
There are whole groups indoctrinating youngsters into believing they are fatally addicted, diseased and the only answer is total abstinence and dependence upon god for the rest of their lives. This is the attitude of many AA members. Sadly, it does mislead many youngsters who would have grown out of it and the stale program offered does not address the real issues of some for whom drinknig is a sympton of other issues, shame, depression, unhealthy anger, anxiety etc.
People are like that because we are sometimes naive and immature.
