The “lucky country” tag just doesn’t seem to fit anymore
kids in their prime going out at night to find love and getting bashed to death
50% of emrgency ward cases due to alcohol
its about time parents think about drinking in front of their children
and im no bible basher tee totaller

all countries do
Well, parents can only do so much. My mother and father only ever drank in front of me every second Christmas or so (one wine each), never supplied me alcohol, rarely allowed me out to parties when I was underage (unless I lied or snuck out), and they both generally condone drinking/smoking/drugs of any kind.
And now I drink alcohol almost every single night, and regularly go out clubbing…among other things.
Yes, Australia has high levels of alcoholism, but it’s really unrealistic to blame it on parents. If someone in this country wants to drink – regardless of age – trust me, the WILL find the booze.
Anyway, the US has the highest rates for underage drinking and the UK has similar issues…along with many more countries in the world. This problem isn’t located here and education really is the key.
